This smart app will be providing a means for the commuters to get information related to metro stations, the train fares between those stations, arrival as well as departure time for the trains.
Several other goodies the smart app will be capable to offer are like the nearest metro station, the timing of the first and the last train from and to its home station, the journey duration among various stations, the metro route information, the most significant metro map covering the whole metro operating network in graphical representation. Users will be able to zoom in and out through this map to locate his current position on the route map. More features include the information regarding new stations in their adolescent stage.
The feature that will definitely put a smile on people’s face is that this app is expected to operate even without accessing the internet i.e. in the offline mode and will be available with a single download totally free of cost. Users will be allowed to install a latest version of the smart app and keep going with their work. More to add are the features like looking up for some landmarks and tourist spots in the vicinity of the metro stations.
Considering the gruesome and lamentable anti-social activities occurring in the suburbs of Delhi, the authority has sorted out a feature for providing helpline numbers for security threats, suggestions, in case of emergency and feedback.
Modern era phones may be supplied with services to determine the current location of the user with the help of GPS huntsman. This service will help in finding correct route from source to destination without any hassle. Detecting the metro feeder buses to the desired metro station would even be of much help for the minute group of people with less knowledge of the metro approach, who still like boarding common means of transport.
Keeping in mind the current trend of socializing this app can be used for answering user-asked questions based on daily stuffs like the procedure to use this app or ATM etc.
The app will also provide the commuters with generic information guidelines and safety precautions to abide by while boarding a metro.
The tender in relevance to this application is expected to be submitted by DMRC at the end of this March, approximately on 28th.
But for the app to be more fruitful, this needs to get installed all over India within the cities laden with metro tracks.
